Types of sessions at ECOC
Workshops: Allow complex or controversial issues to be debated and discussed, either through a series of short presentations representing different viewpoints or with various forms of audience participation.
Tutorial: A tutorial aims to introduce the background information for "hot" topics, enabling attendees to begin working in the specific field covered.
Invited Paper: An invited paper reviews the international state-of-the-art in a given field, often assuming some basic familiarity, and reports the latest ground-breaking results from the speakers' own research.
Extended Papers: An extended paper reports the latest advances from the speakers' own research in depth.
Contributed Papers and Posters: A regular paper briefly reports the latest advances from the speakers' own research.
